NASA’s Kepler Art of Discovery was an art contest that accepted submissions of artwork inspired the Kepler mission and the thousands of exoplanets that hundreds of exoplanets that had been discovered and confirmed at that time. The contest ran for several months in 2014 and invited participants of all ages to enter and participate. 

The website was hand coded using html and css and included a javascript snippet that generated a star field that resized according to the screen size. Custom illustrations were used for the carousel banner, and throughout the site. It was then handed off to a vendor for handling of the back end, including the sign up form and user-managed gallery.
